PHYconn™ - Fixtures for physical layer testing
CCN makes and sells the PHYconn™ line of test fixtrues. Our fixtures break out the high-frequency signal lines in a given serial data connector to single-ended SMA connections. This provides a high quality adapter the enable the connection of oscilloscope and network analyzer test ports to the channels housed in the connector of a given serial data standard, such as USB 3.1, HDMI, and, mini-SAS.
Make single-ended and differential connections to your cable assembly or serial data transceiver by plugging the mating connector into the test fixture connector, discharging each signal path at SMA connectors using provided terminations, then connecting the SMA test ports of your instrument to the desired channel under test on the test fixture. Test your your channel's TDR impedance, S-parameters, cross-talk, coupling, and loss. Measure signals at the end of the channel for distortion, eye-patterns, and deterministic jitter. Test signal integrity at the receiver by injecting serial data signals from a pattern generator.
All our fixtures ship with loss and delay values for each connection path. Upon request, we provide S-parameter de-embedding files for each path on a specific fixture.
